Spanish Grand Prix

Well, it seemed from the beginning of the season that Hamilton was going to have a tricky time in 2018 but it’s certainly looking like Hamilton’s well on his way to securing a win after an incredible performance at the Spanish Grand Prix.  Lewis Hamilton is locked into a rivalry between himself and Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel to see who can come out on top this 2018 Formula One Championship because if either of the two drivers manages to take home a win at the end of the season, they’ll join the Formula One Hall of Fame as the third ever person to win the Championship five times.  Both drivers are currently on win number 4 and this 2018 season could just be the decider.

A Rocky Start at the Spanish Grand Prix

The Spanish Grand Prix started off with quite an unusual turn of events, with Romain Grosjean accidentally causing a 3-person crash on the third turn of the very first lap.  It seems that the newly tarmacked track at the Spanish Grand Prix wasn’t playing nicely with the teams choice of tyres.  There was a very slow build-up of heat which meant the traction of almost every driver suffered at the beginning of the race.  Grosjean, unfortunately, started to spin out and decided his best course of action was to press down on the throttle to try and regain his composure.  This propelled him across the track and created a significant smokescreen that resulted in Pierre Gasly and Hulkenberg crashing into Grosjean and being put out of the race.

Hamilton’s Win at the Spanish Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton’s performance throughout the Spanish Grand Prix was nothing less than impeccable.  It seemed that Hamilton was simply able to get into the right mindset and get into the flow of the track.  Hamilton finished a full 20 seconds before his teammate, Valtteri Bottas who came in 2nd place.  Lewis Hamilton is currently now leading the 2018 Formula One Championship and if Hamilton continues to perform at this level, it’s almost guaranteed that he’ll become the third ever person to take home five Formula One Championships.
